Financial Planning That Actually Makes Sense
Skip the theory overload. Learn practical strategies you'll use from week one.
Most financial courses teach you formulas. We teach you how to think through real scenarios. You'll work with actual case studies from Taiwan's small business sector, analyze family budgets from different income brackets, and build plans people can actually follow. Our autumn 2025 cohort runs for six months—long enough to get comfortable with complex situations, short enough to stay focused.

How the Program Actually Works
We run three phases over six months. Each one builds on what came before, but you're not memorizing textbook chapters. You're solving problems that look like the ones you'll see in real consulting work or managing your own investments.
Months 1-2: Foundation Work
Cash flow analysis, risk assessment basics, understanding Taiwan's tax landscape. You'll take apart existing financial plans and identify what's working and what isn't.
Months 3-4: Strategy Development
Portfolio construction, retirement planning frameworks, business financial modeling. Each week includes a case study from a different sector—manufacturing, services, family office situations.
Months 5-6: Applied Projects
You'll create comprehensive financial plans in small teams. Some past groups worked with local nonprofits, others built models for startup scenarios. Final month is about refining your approach and presenting your work.
You'll Learn With Others, Not Alone
Twenty people per cohort. Small enough for actual discussion, large enough for diverse perspectives.
Weekly Group Sessions
Tuesday evenings, three hours. First hour is new material, rest is working through problems together. Online format with breakout groups for focused work.
Peer Review Process
You'll swap work with classmates before submitting final versions. Learning to evaluate someone else's analysis sharpens your own thinking faster than anything.
Shared Resource Library
Every cohort builds a collection of useful tools—spreadsheet templates, calculation shortcuts, reference materials. You keep access to everything after the program ends.
Who You'll Learn From
Four instructors rotate through the program. Each brings different experience—advisory work, corporate finance, independent practice, academic research.
Callum Rathbone
Lead Instructor
Spent twelve years building financial models for manufacturing clients before switching to education. Teaches the strategy modules.
Isla Drummond
Risk Analysis Specialist
Handles the foundation phase. Former insurance analyst who knows how to explain complex probability concepts without putting people to sleep.
Freya Blackwood
Portfolio Construction
Runs a small advisory practice in Taipei. Covers investment strategy and asset allocation. Her case studies come from actual client work.
Seren Fairburn
Tax & Compliance
Guides the final project phase. Background in cross-border tax planning. Makes regulatory topics actually interesting, which is harder than it sounds.
Next Cohort Starts This Fall
September 2025 intake opens for applications in June
We accept twenty participants per cohort. Priority goes to those who submit applications early—not because we want to rush you, but because the first applicants tend to be the most committed. If you're considering this for professional development or career transition, reach out before summer starts.
